Join Alan Aimone, reference librarian at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and fellow appraiser, to learn the basic tools you need to evaluate books in a full day seminar designed to cover the fundamental knowledge that is essential for generalist appraisers: how to assess the overall substance of a collection, how to spot the more valuable books, what information is needed to describe a book for evaluation, what resources you can use to check bibliographic accuracy and value, how to assess condition, and deciding the most practical and appropriate ways to disperse book collections. Participants will have a chance to hear from experts , auction specialists and booksellers on the trends in the marketplace today. |
